Do you believe that romantic love is unconditional?

Love is always unconditional. And it is a "choice". We have to choose to live in love! If Jesus gave us two Commandments: "To love God with all our love, with all our hearts, with all our strength" and "to love our fellow men like ourselves", it means that we can choose to love and then act accordingly. Love is respectful and over any suspicions.
