What are some easy, vegetarian meals you don't need a microwave for?
I'm moving into a dorm in New York City for the summer. The building doesn't allow any kind of cooking appliance in the room (microwave, coffee maker, hot plate, blender, water heaters, etc.), but they provide a mini-fridge. I was planning on just using the communal kitchens for all my meals (stove top, microwave, etc.), but there are only two small kitchens for a building of 500 rooms and they are far away from my room. I'm thinking they're going to be very busy and very inconvenient (lugging all my kitchen supplies and food to the kitchen and back would be annoying to do everyday). I need help thinking up a list of easy, vegetarian (no meat, no seafood... dairy is fine) meals I can prepare in my room, without using a microwave (or any other heating device or appliance). I'm looking for things like cereal, sandwiches, yogurt, etc. Thanks!
